Let me tell you a little about myself.

I love to run, and I love dogs.  It's a great combination!  I was born and raised in Green Bay.   I attended UW Madison and Arizona State University, where I graduated with a major in Justice Studies.  After completing college I resided in Phoenix for four years.  Arizona is a great state, but I missed Wisconsin, and found my way back to Green Bay.  Besides hanging out with dogs, I am currently employed in Community Corrections.

I recently completed training by the American Red Cross to become certified in Dog First Aid and CPR.

Running has always been a passion of mine.  I have ran five full marathons to date.  A full marathon is 26.2 miles.  I completed the Fall 50 on October 25, 2008.  It was a 50 mile ultra marathon, and was my biggest challenge yet!  I recently ran the Fall 50 as part of a relay team which was a blast!

Each year I participate in fundraising for the Green Bay Cellcom Charities.  With the generous donations from family and friends, to date I have raised about $2,600 for local charities such as: Green Bay Boys and Girls Club, Salvation Army, American Red Cross, and the NEW Community Shelter.

I have also Completed numerous half marathons to date, which are 13.1 miles, and a handful of smaller runs; including the Bellin Run and the Rainbow Classic.  I am not the fastest runner, and I have never won a race, although once I took fourth in a 15K, and fourth in a 10K!  But I do love to run and I am usually training for an upcoming race.  My future goal is to qualify for the Boston Marathon.  I also completed one short course triathlon and plan to train for more.  Since I'm usually running on my spare time, I love taking a running buddy with me.

Pictured above is my friend Natalie (right), and myself after completing the Country Music Half Marathon in Nashville on April 26, 2008.  Natalie is a cancer survivor and raised over $2,500 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  It was a huge accomplishment!

In addition to running, I also enjoy rollerblading, biking, dancing, weight lifting, volleyball, downhill skiing, wakeboarding, camping, and hanging out with family, my boyfriend and his three children, and friends.  And of course, my dogs!  My favorite running buddy is Bernie.  Bernie is my ten year old St. Bernard.  Bernie is not your typical St. Bernard.  She was the runt of the litter and is very small.  Bernie weighs about 65 pounds.  Bernie prefers to walk so that she can stop to sniff all the hydrants, poles, trees, and mailboxes.  Bernie loves to play  in the snow!  She also loves to cuddle and slobber.

EmilyThe other member of my family is Emily.  Emily is a friendly, loveable, huggable, cuddly Black Lab/Golden Retriever mix.  She is nine years old.  Emily likes to run more than Bernie does!  She also enjoys hunting critters that run around in the yard.  I am currently planning for Emily to become a therapy dog.
